A garage, a drying room and a tip for tomorrow’s ride

By motorbike over the passes of the Julian Alps, or on the permitted gravel roads to Breginj, Robidišče, Kolovrat, Krn and Vrsno. By bike on mountain and forest roads, or on the quieter roads between the villages. In 2022 the Giro d’Italia came through Idrsko too.

History, the river, the air and snow

  • The First World War

    The Kobarid Museum, the Italian Charnel House above Kobarid and the open-air museum on Kolovrat. A history trail leads through Idrsko.

  • The Soča

    Agencies in Kobarid, Tolmin, Trnovo ob Soči and Bovec run kayaking, rafting, hydrospeed and canyoning trips. You can walk to the Napoleon Bridge and the Kozjak waterfall.

  • Paragliding

    Mount Stol above Kobarid is a well-known launch site, with good thermals and long flights over the Julian Alps.

  • Winter

    Cross-country skiing, winter hikes and snowshoe walks on Matajur and Kolovrat.

Drive towards Tolmin and Nova Gorica. The inn is on the road, 1 km past the petrol station in Kobarid.

Free parking is behind the house; bikes and motorbikes go in the garage.
